Lots on the horizon and little time makes blogging tough. Oh well. As you can see the blog header has gotten a make-over. Jess helped me make several versions, and I hope to rotate them to keep it interesting. Also in the works is my 'highly anticipated' (wink) satellite blog: The Sidebar. Additionally, I'm working on a new playlist mix comprising some of my favorite songs of 2010. I hope to have a embedded music player so you can listen to it right on the site.
In the meantime, my personal iPhone mojo has been amped up by the announcement of a Verizon model and some cool apps I recently put into use.
First is Dragon Dictation. Tap Record, speak aloud and watch as your speech is captured with uncanny accuracy. Then hit Email or SMS (text) to shoot it off without having to type a word. I think it's common knowledge that voice recognition has arrived from the 'future' (unlike flying cars), but I don't know anyone who really uses it. Maybe because up until now it stunk. Well, your sci-fi dreams are answered here. The accuracy is almost creepy. For me, it's sure handy when I need to send a detailed message and I'm multitasking. Best of all, it's free! The other app that recently stoked my tech buzz was Apple's Remote. I've used it several times in the past to control my iTunes library and player from my iPhone. But I recently had that 'future' tech moment when after a long day I ended up slumping in the recliner listening to music. A song came on that I didn't like and I thought "Man, I do not want to get up right now... can't I just control it with my mind or something?" Then the light bulb went off as I reached into my pocket to find my trusty iPhone. Yes, I was only five feet from my computer, but hitting 'next' from the comfort of the recliner was sci-fi bliss.

I was actually going to ask you about Photo Apps. What are the best Dave? I like Hipstamatic and TrueHDR
Found both Easter eggs.
Was it intentional that that time on the screen capture of your iPhone screen is 4:20?
Well, Mr. Banjo, believe it or not, I actually don't have any special iPhone photo apps that I use. Jess has a bunch she likes, but I don't take many photos with my phone. I think when I get a new iPhone I will, however, since it takes so much better pics than my 3G does. I'll check out Hipstamatic and TrueHDR though.
At least someone is searching for my easter eggs! And as far as the time on my phone...hmmm...could it be a coincidence? Perhaps not. Nice catch.
Nice new look Man!!!! Well done.
I am SO getting the dictation app. And you know I never pay for apps. So if it ain't free.......
However, I've had such a hard time with Remote. It's quite possible that it is simply smarter than I am, however, it is pretty random with making a connection, then I have to retype in the code....... I love it when it works though.
The phone's camera is great if there is plenty of light. However the new one is indeed quite tempting. HD vid too.
I've had the same issue with Remote losing the connection. I figure it's an issue with my router rather than the app itself.
The 'HDR' function in iPhone 4 makes such a difference in quality. I can't wait to get my hands on one. Ok, I CAN wait, until summer when hopefully Apple releases a Verizon iPhone 5 on the 4G network.
