On the Tech Horizon

So much tech, so little time. Hecoxian Ways has taken a backseat to several other tech ideas and projects. I keep thinking all these simultaneous projects will converge into a single tech milestone, and be like reaching the summit of 'Mt. Techopolis' in the 'Province of Apple'. They are:

1) Switching over to a 20 inch iMac from my G5 tower.  Goodbye giant metal knee bruiser with loud fans. Hello bluetooth wireless keyboard and magic mouse. I'll also get to test out Google Chrome, which only works on Intel Macs.

2) Integrating the computer and video projector so I can sit in the recliner and 'compute' on the big screen. I'm lounging for the first time tonight and writing this blog post with the wireless keyboard that was a birthday present. Looks like WALL-E may be coming true. Next I need to work on motorizing the recliner.

3) Researching a new and powerful wireless router. It's not so fun when you get all settled for a movie in bed and Netflix streaming conks out. The good news is we canceled our cable.  Netflix movies and a digital HD antenna for broadcast TV should cover it. Until Monday Night Football resumes on ESPN.

4) Acquiring an iPad2. Why do we have a laptop when this device is all we need? I can't wait to tap into the music apps. And get my hands on  the visualizer app. Andrew is going to love it too.

5) Figure out how to get a playlist going on this blog. I once declared "you can figure anything out by looking it up on the internet."  I've rarely been more stumped.

6) Finish my latest music mix and post it on MediaFire. I have all the songs picked out and in order. It's down to the final editing. Luckily, Pro Tools is working on the iMac.

7) Create a new blog where I can post photos of all of our garage sale items. Gotta pay for that iPad2 somehow.

8) Get some new music! What will be the soundtrack when I reach the summit?  Perhaps Steve Wilson's new Blackfield album?
